Silica has a good thermal stability£¬it won¡¯t imploded or pulverized even rapidly warming up to 900 degree. Silica shouldn¡¯t be mixed with other kind of ores or waste ores, and should be washed before using in order to clean the impurities and adhesive soil.
¡ñ Carbonaceous reducer
The carbonaceous reducer should be qualified enough during the smelting progress, different quality of carbonaceous reducer make great difference during the smelting progress. Generally, the carbonaceous reducer should qualify following specifications: high content of fixed carbon, low content of ash, high resistivity, large specific surface area, high activity index under high temperature. Meanwhile, the adequacy of resources, the distance between origin and plant locations and the price should be concerned while choosing the reducer.
At present, common used carbonaceous reducer include: charcoal, semi-coke, delayed coking petroleum coke (also petroleum coke or coal tar), washed coal etc. And different loosen and ventilate materials can be added according to the kind of reducer requested in the technical proposal, such as block, bagasse, corncob, cornstalk, rice husk and pinecone etc.
