National and its North African joint-venture partner, Afro-American Services, have continued a program of research and development of energy production. International Development Group, S.a.r.l. (“IDG”), was organized under the laws of the Kingdom of Morocco in 2000, for rapid implementation of a strategic J.V. plan. The purpose is to develop energy related infrastructure projects such as increased refining capacity, transportation logistical flexibility/storage, and waste conversion to energy facilities. The Kingdom of Morocco currently enjoys an advantageous trade relationship with the United States of America, enhanced recently by several detailed free trade agreements successfully negotiated between the two long term allies.
National is continuing to develop local relationships with regional authorities in the emerging nations of West Africa. The strategic, economic, social success of infra-structure development is dependent upon fostering strong, mutually beneficial relationships, thereby ensuring long term viability.
